Compact S1 and S2 “large” economic success story which lasts six years, Daelim suppressant with the S3, the map of the high range sport-GT. First approached as the Q2 (that is his name in Korea), the S3 is available here in Touring and Sporting version to paste to the niches of a GT in full expansion and always more demanding market. With a cost of only €275, the Touring we had the chance to try is an amount windshield, a front rim 14 inch, a backrest and the coupling of the brakes. The two templates have to the rest of the same chassis and an identical engine that make all the news!
If the designers did not play the extreme finesse, force is that the Devils of the bel S3 lines are also thinking, as the flagship Xenon flanked by two circular position lights led. This beautiful and wide body conceals the new open framework, three tubular beams are designed to perfectly moulded. Original engine is set, top limit vibrations. On a classic scooter carter coupled to a non less conventional automatic transmission, the upper part is 125 Roadwin motorcycle. Cooled by water, with 4 valves and a double tree, this mechanical announced for 15 horses promises performance.
A careful position, but…
With a base (745 mm for Sporting) and 762 mm for the Touring low pilot not leaving person on the tile and the handlebars branches identified falling in hands, is the DNA of the S2 on the newcomer. For the rest, the manufacturer paid in the State of the art. Thus, the key to contact disappears in favour of a remote control, while the huge trunk of saddle opening electrically (for more details see section “engage” on page 2 of this essay). Rich dashboard layer, although primarily analog, is almost of Star Trek. It is quickly found its marks on the S3. Well stalled against the folder, it is possible to extend the feet on the floor fully flat assuming simply, in position “Cruising” (elongated legs), the end of shoes pointing necessarily out of the deck will be exposed in case of inclement weather. But for the moment, it is dry and the sun shines.
Technologies of the future
Rubbing shoulders with the scooter, Pocket less than 1 m 30 remote control, can unlock the handlebars blocks by turning the knob on the elegant central console in alu brushed before contact. Outlines its future the S3 is plans smooth: in the city, its excellent turning radius allows to interfere between cars without more restraint with a compact despite the inherent in the GT style length. Its engine is then more brilliant than cooled by air of the S2, displays a beautiful vitality despite a lack of obvious break-in and a linear character necessarily smoothing impressions.
Above 90 km/h, S3 Touring high bubble is assessed in its proper measure. On the road, one finds very quickly from the rigidity of the part-cycle as long as the absence of vibration. The large curves calmly swallowed justify the choice of the tri-tubulaire framework and the Ferris wheel before which guarantees stability and directivity. A “Sporting” S3 focus a little more on agility in the virolos. If the beautiful torque value does not generate an extended impression because of the weight to take, it remains clear that engine likes take its towers. On Highway, it is to not deprive moods with 127 km/h meter (9 800 RPM). The info appears to be optimistic, it is revealing to easily hang speeds. Last point, not least, coupled discs front and rear braking overrides without harm to the option of an ABS (not proposed) while remaining perfectly dosable. “CBS”, as has appointed it Honda which was the precursor, is in all situations bluffing efficiency and provides unmatched stability when braking chamfered. As previously mentioned, the sportier version of the S3′s going of this asset.
Become a star?
After a day to his handlebars, it appears the ramage of the Daelim S3 Touring is wonderful plumage. Worthy successor of the S2 remaining catalogue, this scooter succeeds as much as its competitors in order to combine driving comfort and sports behavior, with emphasis on security as well as the forthcoming. A globally positive balance for that which, to 3 €450 (Touring) and 3 €175 (version Sporting), appears at rates close to the Peugeot Satelis Premium or Kymco Dink Street, but between 750 and 1 €075 less that the reference Yamaha X – Max only Sym EBP implementation with an Evo to 3 €200.
